Minestrone

Well we have our first show booked!! 'Minestrone'. It is a group exhibition organised by painter, Becky Rose. A mixture of mediums and a heavy helping of artists plans to make this show a perfect start for the new gallery.

The concept is simple: add some fresh artists, season with different venues and serve piping hot!

Artists from all along the south coast; Falmouth to London, Brighton to Chichester are coming together, not only in the Joy Gallery but in the Guildhall too. This makes an interesting relationship between two gallery sites that are only a stones throw apart.


The Exhibition will start on Monday 1st March 2010 and finish on Saturday27th March 2010.

Opening Date Delayed.....

The Joy Gallery will unfortunately now not be opening in December.

We are planning to open in March 2010 instead. Our first show has already been booked!!

The New Joy Gallery Location

This is the new location for soon to be opening Gallery. As you can see it is just across the road from Priory Park and is situated next to the Ship Hotel in Guildhall Street.

Where's all the Joy Gone?

The Joy Gallery is in the process of moving to new location in Guildhall Street, just off of North Street.

We had our last exhibition in our old premises in South Street on Monday 26th October which showcased work from a collaboration of local artists, including Catherine Barnes, Jayne Sandys-Renton, Laurence Elliott, Jez Sugars and many more.

The photo above is of a piece of Daniel Woodwards mesmerising and suitably named work, Chin-finity.

The Joy Gallery will reopen in early December 2009. Watch this space for information on the much awaited opening and Private View. There's not long to wait now!
